We are in Cleveland for a wedding. I've made a bunch of posts lately. To read them chronologically, scroll down to April 21 and read up from there.
BTW, just to prove we were actually in Cleveland, here are a couple of memories of the trip.
Russell and Christina leaving the church to a shower of bubbles and a bit of rain.
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the "Mistake on the Lake" next to it. (I think they still call it that...) Anyway, they have two major league stadium in downtown and we have a beautiful waterfront in Boston with a new courthouse.

Just wrote a huge post here complimenting all of them, signed it and when I went to preview it, it all was wiped out.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I am fascinated by all your posts. Keep them coming.
Give my regards (not) to the metro Cleveland/Akron area. Miss it some but not much.
Quite a change from Az. We first noticed the green grass. But that's about it.
ReplyDeleteEverything is flowering and the trees are out already. It's about three weeks ahead of schedule here.
ReplyDeleteAh-the land of my birth, and growth. Yeah-miss is some but not much also.

ReplyDelete"The Mistake on the Lake" was the name for Cleveland from the late sixties through the 70's into the early 80's. Among other things, the city went into bankruptcy, the Cuyahoga River caught on fire and almost all of the steel mills and refineries shut down, and there was serious white flight to the outer suburbs.
Now it is once again the "Best Location in the Nation". The river and harbor are clean, there is international shipping coming and going, and it has become a happening place with two state of the art stadiums, The Rock Hall (designed by I.M. Pei) and the Great Lakes Science Center are left and center in your picture and the newish football stadium is to the right. Up the hill in the background are the headquarters of many major companies including BP. Great restaurants with all sorts of ethnic cuisines.
So there!
